Charles immersed himself in the natural wonders of Central Park in New York City. Most notably, he was the great champion of the famous Fifth Avenue Red-tailed Hawk, Pale Male. At his death in 2004, Charles left behind a rich homage to his beloved Central Park in unpublished collections of haiku, photographs, and essays.

This site is dedicated to the life and works and influence of my uncle, the late Charles Francis Kennedy. Charles was a major guide and mentor in my life, and he had a positive impact on scores of others whose lives he touched. For all of us he shined his special light on nature, literature, spirituality, and how to live a full and well-expressed life.

“He really was an enchanting person. In some way he was like the spiritual father of everybody…. It is hard to imagine Central Park without Charles Kennedy.”
Marie Winn, author of Red-tails in Love, and close friend of Charles,
remembering him after his death in October 2004
